SchooGo is a free online resource that provides parents a well rounded picture of individual schools. SchooGo offers pre-k, elementary, middle and high school information across the US and allows parents to evaluate public schools based on academic performance, student and teacher statistics, and parent and teacher reviews.

This is a great resource for parents who find themselves having to relocate and want to find the best schools for their children near their new home.  Moving to a new school can be a difficult emotional experience for lots of kids.  Leaving old friends and becoming the “new kid” having no friends at all at the “new school.”  We found ourselves in this position this past year and both our 11 yr. old sixth grader and our youngest of 8 yrs. and in third grade were faced with this exact scenario, in addition to all the other issues an 11 yr. old and 8 yr. old have to deal with.  Having focused on providing our boys with good Character Education and by modeling our own behavior as parents, both of our son’s, , have  developed great friendships at their new school and both are preforming above average academically (secondary to emotional literacy).  I firmly believe that a child can develop beyond our expectations if we let them develop their own healthy expectations of themselves, and this will only happen when they have a level of emotional intelligence that will allow the to do so.  Character Education and Emotional Literacy are the keys to happiness which are followed by success and achievement.
