About Patrick McMillan
“As a dad with two young boys, a satisfaction grew in me to help them develop the emotional stability to cope, in a positive way, with the stress and negativity consuming our society. This has motivated me to discover my purpose, to provide children with the early tools they need to live a happy life.”
Patrick McMillan, Creator of An Exercise in Happiness™
Patrick McMillan is an author, children’s motivational speaker and subject matter expert in childhood emotional development. Patrick is the founder of Kids Can Do Anything and An Exercise in Happiness™, an interactive emotional fitness program for children. Patrick is an active member of The International Positive Psychology Association and The National Association for Self Esteem, though his passion stems from being a stay at home dad since 2001.
A Child’s daily quest is to be happy, though for so many kids, this can prove to be an uphill journey. Patrick has committed his life to helping kids create for themselves the kind of life they want and deserve, and give parents and teachers the tools to take action in helping their kids in their daily pursuit of happiness.
As a result of Patrick’s determination, An Exercise in Happiness™ give us a tool for children to co-creatively explore their dreams and aspirations. In the process kids develop habits identifying and dealing with their emotions as well as those of others. Requiring only minutes each day, the program comes with everything needed to get started. Children get their very own Kids Guide and adults get a Grown-Ups Guide. Kids create daily gratitude statements and goals, and then summarize the week by journaling their success. Listing their thoughts, experiences and visions for the future — based on what makes them happy — establishes a simple process to complete the “Amazing Me” portion of the Exercise in Happiness™ workbook.
